Bernadette Black of Tasmania is Barnardos Australia's Mother of the Year for 2009

Tonight at a gala dinner at The Ivy Room in Sydney, Bernadette Black of Tasmania took the title of Barnardos Australia's Mother of the Year 2009. Bernadette was overwhelmed by the annoucement and paid special tribute to her son Damien who nominated her, as well as to the other seven deserving finalists.

Today, at a morning tea ceremony in Brisbane the last of our state finalists in the 2009 Barnardos Australia's Mother of the Year Awards was announced. Barbara Pope of Blenheim became the Queensland Mother of the Year.
