The 2010 Mother of the Year is Kaye Worth of WA

Tonight, at a gala dinner held at the Ivy in Sydney, 68-year-old Kaye Worth of Western Australia beat seven other amazing mums to become Barnardos Australia's Mother of the Year for 2010. Kaye, whose dedication to the many vulnerable babies whose health and wellbeing she has restored impressed our judges, was called an inspiration by The Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, Minister for Housing and Minister for the Status of Women who presented her with the award.

This morning at a morning tea ceremony in Darwin Monika Schaefe of Moulden was named the Northern Territory's Mother of the Year. She was presented with her award by The Hon Kon Vatskalis MLA, Minister for Children and Families.

Today, at a morning tea ceremony in Melbourne, Gina Scuffins from Ross Creek was presented with the Barnardos' Victorian Mother of the Year Award. She was presented with her award by Li Cunxin, the 2009 Father of the Year, and author of the best selling autobiography Mao's Last Dancer.
