On Thursday, 11 February 2010 the judging panel met in Sydney to perform the incredibly difficult task of sorting through the nominations to select this year's state and territory finalists.

“We don't envy them, it must be so hard - there are so many sincere expressions of love, gratitude and inspiration conveyed in the nominations," said Glynis Sequeira, Barnardos Australia's marketing director. "In our eyes all the mums who have been nominated are winners.” The state and territory finalists will be notified by the end of February. However, every mum nominated will receive an acknowledgement letter from us which will include the original nomination and reason for nominating. The 2010 judging panel included - pictured left to right - Di Jagelman (former director of Barnardos Australia and panel chair), Dennis Coard (awards ambassador), Mara Lee (editor of Practical Parenting Magazine), Rowena Millward (director of marketing at Johnson & Johnson Pacific) and Chantal Walker (director of brands & advertising at Telstra Corporation). Absent on the day were Paul Mercurio (awards ambassador), Claudia Keech OAM (director and editor of Motherinc.com.au) and Deborah Thomas (editorial director of ACP Magazines). We are sincerely grateful to our judges for taking time out of their busy schedules to participate in the judging process. |
